Do technical writers search for jobs on the Internet? Probably yes, but do we know how many of professionals and beginners in technical writing and documentation authoring do it? We decided to get answers for these questions, and made a quick research.

Using Google AdWords and its Keyword Tool, we compared three keywords in several areas “technical writer jobs”, “technical writer work” and “technical writer vacancies”. These keywords are typcially used when searching for a job. We used these settings: “All Categories”, “Only show ideas closely related to my search terms and different locations”.

You can see the results of this research below.

    Global

    • technical writer jobs 18,100 monthly searches
    • technical writer work 4,400 monthly searches
    • technical writer vacancies 720 monthly searches
